Thanks, Jason. Good work! Who's that good looking Presbyterian Pastor with the receding headline and a beard?

I thank you Jason for making this blog available to everyone. My week was extraordinary. I am grateful for all the people I met and those I experienced in new and different ways.

Ken, our Fish Camp manager, was so gracious, organized, and compassionate. I loved his calm nonstop energy.

My work team was fantastic. We were able to work together in open and close quarters, when we were tired, and whether we were learning a new skill, or using an accomplished one. I enjoyed how our group was playful, flexible, dedicated, never wanting for conversation, and comprised of all ages. Each day I witnessed how each person's talents, energy, and determination help make a sizable dent in the work needed for our house. I am so glad to have been a part of this group. We were so fortunate to meet and talk with our homeowner. Hearing her story, hopes and dreams was such a gift.

Now, back in Buffalo, I feel so fortunate to be a contributor to this complex puzzle of New Orleans recovery with new and deepened friendships, and a delightful sense of serenity.

Linda, Jen, Marilyn, Drew, Allie, Dan, Dick, Jason, Denis, Carol and everyone else:

I know we spent just two short days of your week with you but I'm tellin' ya, they were very special days for Chris & me.
The energy, love & camaraderie made the time a memory to cherish. I thank God and his loving servant, Ken (my lil' bro) for bringing us together for this worthy cause (my guess is He chose your group for Chris & I to join for good reason).

I know the memories will fade in time but while they're fresh I again want to thank you all (Y'All?) for making our time together so special.

'Nuff said. Except maybe a reunion of sorts is a great idea -or how about I become an adjunct member of your congregation somehow? : )

Love and Peace,

Rick & Chris

Great to see the pics, Jason- Thanks for setting all this up! I was upset that I didn't bring a camera, but it seems that our crew has done a great job documenting the trip.

One thing I really wanted to mention about the trip was the wide range of friends I made over the trip. It was the first time I felt like I was actually friends with adults- despite the misconception that 18 year olds are grown up. Coming back to school, I returned to the feeling of going to adults only for consultation, rather than the jokes and laughs I shared with my buddies in my Marias St. group.
